No older person should be alone on Christmas Day unless they want to be
An introduction to Community Christmas

An introduction to Community Christmas

Throughout the month of December, we’re going to be introducing you to some of the organisers, attendees and volunteers that take part in the events listed on the Community Christmas website. We really hope this gives you an understanding of how important our work is, not only for Christmas Day, but for the strength of communities throughout the year.

To kick off our countdown, here is our founder, Caroline Billington, talking about why she set up Community Christmas in the first place.

Together, we are working towards a world where no older person has to spend Christmas Day alone (unless they choose to). We can only do this because of the support of people throughout the UK, championing local community. They have taken up the challenge to reach as many people as possible, and if you’d like to get involved yourself, you can either donate, fundraise, or find a place for you or a neighbour to go as a volunteer or a guest at https://communitychristmas.org.uk/get-involved/events-and-activities/.

Finally, it’s not too late to organise something in your area, but be quick about it!
