We recently heard from a potential volunteer who wanted to do something on Christmas Day that would make a difference.
She knew that she wouldn’t be able to run a full event this year, but she did feel she could offer a warm smile, a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie on Christmas Day. For some people in her local area, this could mean absolutely everything.
We don’t always have to fill a room and lay on a full turkey with all the trimmings to brighten people’s Christmas. A chat, and a festive snack can mean just as much.
We’d like to leave you with a quote from this kind lady, who said ‘Where I live can be very isolated and it can be difficult to regularly see people. I want to change that.’
The more people who are trying to change things, the better.
