Case Studies

We heard so many stories of people facing Christmas Day alone as their partners had passed away or family lived far away or not having family.

It’s Christmas Time Again by Follow the Hawk member Charlie Barnes

One night in mid November, I was playing my guitar as usual and suddenly I had this perfect Christmassy piece come out of nowhere.

A week later I visit my uncle John. We discuss my mental block with the lyrics and if he could help. We jot down a rough chorus but still nothing concrete.

And then… “What if it’s a love song? But not in a ‘boy meets girl’ kind of way but in the sense of a lost family member?”

Just over two years ago my grandfather passed away. It struck the family hard. I had been living with him and my Nan for over two years. We were very close.

A song about how Christmas just wasn’t the same without him… And it was complete. I suggest we release it for charity and we should donate all the proceeds, but to who?

Community Christmas was the perfect choice – we are so thankful for the wonderful job the team do.
