I ended up speaking to a nice lady who told me about a group doing Sunday teas and other things I could do during the year

Day 8 of the Community Christmas Advent Calendar

The countdown to Christmas is the perfect opportunity to check on the older neighbours you know, and to introduce yourself to those that you don’t.

The fact is, a lot of older people won’t approach Community Christmas, even if they are going to spend the day alone, because they feel like they would be making a fuss.

We want to make it clear, that these events are for everyone facing the day alone, and they can not happen if people don’t attend, and we need you to help spread the message.

Please talk to the older people in your life, and let them know that we need them to make Community Christmas possible.
